Proudly supporting Guide Dogs Queensland
By taking part in the Ride for Life Challenge, you will be helping our puppies graduate to Guide Dogs
Every day in Australia, 28 adults and children have their lives turned upside down when they are diagnosed with permanent vision loss. Nine of these people will eventually become blind. Guide Dogs Queensland works to change the lives of over 1,500 Queenslanders and families every year through a range of tailored services and programs.
While the organisation’s beloved Guide Dogs attract the most attention, they are also the most expensive to provide, with each qualified dog costing the organisation at least $50,000 to produce. There are currently more than 38 Queenslanders on the waiting list to receive a Guide Dog. With only limited government funding provided, Guide Dogs Queensland relies on fundraising initiatives like the ‘Ride for Life Challenge’ to help pay for the breeding, training and placement of these remarkable animals with Queenslanders who need them most.
